Liz Curtis virtual therapist smiles in her offices in Detroit and Chicago

Hi there! I’m Liz.

I have been a licensed psychotherapist since 2019 and I have loved every moment. I chose this career path at age sixteen and never looked back. I feel that in a world fraught with trauma, injustice, and inequality, my job allows me to make a positive individual impact. My feminist theoretical orientation is strong, and it matters greatly that you feel involved in the entire process. I love building rapport and demystifying the therapeutic experience.

I am talkative, friendly, and down-to-earth. For those wondering, I am a gemini through and through (but with a cancer moon, so I love to talk about feelings!). I love to crack a joke or make a reference to my favorite TV shows and books.

I am passionate about progressive advocacy issues. I currently serve on Central Michigan University’s Advisory Board for their Counseling Master’s program, offering feedback and improvements into their curriculum. I am also a contributing author to a textbook about feminist therapy, entitled Feminist Intersectional Therapy: Fourth Wave Clinical Applications, which you can learn more about here!

I work from my home state of Michigan, where I reside in the metro Detroit area. I live with my husband and our cats, Pearl & Peter. I love to read dystopian sci-fi, play trivia, and spend time in beautiful up north Michigan.
